Microsoft Dynamics SL 2015 CU1 Released
Microsoft recently released Dynamics SL 2015 CU 1 and we have highlighted some of the points that Project users would find interesting.
CU (Cumulative Update) is the new name for Feature Packs/Service Packs. It includes some fixes to the Contract Management, Flexible Billings, Project Allocator, Project Budgeting and Project Controller modules. Support for SQL Server 2012 SP 2 is now available. Pre- and Post-Processes used when running reports have all been converted to Stored Procedures which will allow for them to run in both the rich client and in Web Apps.
But, the real reason you may wish to upgrade to CU1 is because of the Web Apps that have been added or changed. They include the following:
- Project Budgeting – Now you can access both direct budget and budget revisions.
- Project Timecard Entry – When Project Flex Time is enabled you now have the ability to enter time in a grid
- Project Expense Entry – Detail lines can now be entered in a grid
- Project Employee and Resource Management
- Project Employee Position/Rate Maintenance
- Payroll Timecard and Advanced Timecard
- Administration – Access Rights
- Resource Management, including resource planning and utilization goals
- Project Employees that are members of a project can view their own assignments
- Project Managers can also view and manage the assignments for those project employees for which they are the Project Manager
- Project Executives can follow these steps for all resources and all projects and tasks
- Users can now compare project and task remaining budget hours to resource planned hours for a manager overview
- Users can now compare the amount of revenue generated by employees to goal revenue
- Item Request Entry & Approval, including Inventory Item Lookup
- Business Portal to Web Apps Data Migration
- Web Report Options Interpreter (ROI)
