Dynamics SL 2018 Is Now Available
On May 1st, Microsoft released Dynamics SL 2018 which includes new features, updates and fixes. In addition, SL 2018 will integrate with Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Power Apps and Microsoft Flow. There are also new Web Apps available and Microsoft is planning on releasing Web App updates about once a month. They will also start releasing updates quarterly to the Dynamics SL application. We will highlight some of the updates here with more details to follow in upcoming posts.
In the Financial Suite there are some nice new changes:
- Voucher and Adjustment approvals – You can now configure up to two levels of approval.
System wide there are some additional enhancements:
- Possible Value (PV/F3) filtering – Users can select either “begins with” or “contains” as their default list lookup behavior
- SQL Server 2016 Support – Support for SQL Server 2014 continues to be available
- SQL Server compatibility mode – The new default mode is 120. SQL Server compatibility mode 110 and lower is no longer supported
In the Project Suite SL 2018 will add the following features:
- Calculate Retention by line item – Adds the ability to calculate retention by line item, not just total invoice amount in Invoice and Adjustment Maintenance. Construction billing already supports retention by line item
- Invoice Print – Additional options for printing to a directory or to a SharePoint site.
Additional Web Apps give users more mobile functionality:
- Timecard Status
- Project Charge Entry
- Project Change Order
