Day in the life of an Acumatica Consultant
Have you ever wondered what the day of an Acumatica consultant looked like? We’ve got your answers!
The day in the life of an Acumatica ERP consultant can vary based on the specific projects they are working on and the stage of implementation. However, here is a general overview:
Morning Routine and Plan Day:
At Polaris, our Acumatica consultants typically start their day by checking emails and communication channels to stay updated on project developments and any client communications. Sometimes we can come into many emails from clients that we need to tend to right away, other times we are able to plan on working on new projects.
Project Planning and Meetings:
There are several daily tasks that our consultants work on to make sure that we are meeting our project goals and timelines. Acumatica project plans become very important when reviewing what stage of implementation different projects are in. Hitting milestones in projects are important, and meeting with project teams, clients, and other stakeholders to discuss progress, address issues, and plan upcoming tasks is something that is regularly on our schedules.
At Polaris, we engage with clients to understand their business processes, requirements, and challenges. This is an important step to ensure that we fully understand the project and how we can best help the client. Throughout implementation, as a consultant we will conduct training sessions for end-users on how to use the ERP system effectively.
System Configuration and Customization:
There are couple of major steps to the configuration and set-up of a new system. A consultant will take time to configure the ERP system based on the client’s requirements implement any necessary customizations to tailor the system to the client’s specific needs. Acumatica makes customizations very easy!
If there is data from an old system that needs to be migrated, a consultant will take that data, clean it, and move to the new system. Having clean, good data will ensure a smooth process for both the customer and the Polaris Team.
Having a consultant that knows your business well, will make for a smooth testing process. Testing individual components of the ERP system will help to resolve any issues and challenges before being in a production environment. Consultants are able to provide status reports to stakeholders that need them and serve as the main point of contact in this large project.
Polaris’ consultants have experience in many different types of implementations, with different companies and industries. Keeping up to date with training, trends, and the most effective solutions is the fun part of the job!
At the end of the day, a Polaris consultant has the time to reflect on the day’s achievements, challenges, and plan for the next day. The important role of an ERP consultant involves collaboration with various stakeholders, problem-solving, and a deep understanding of both business processes and technical aspects of ERP systems. The day-to-day activities may differ based on the specific ERP software, industry, and project requirements.
