Acumatica Summit 2017 Day Two Recap
The second full day of the 2017 Acumatica Summit was full of demos to show where Acumatica is headed. The capabilities that Acumatica was able to demonstrate today included some things I don’t think we will ever see in a legacy ERP system. We will dig into some of these in future posts as the functionality becomes available for general release, but here are some of the highlights:
- Dashboards now accept parameters so it is easier to analyze data on the fly
- New interface expected later this year:
- New menu interface called “workspaces” – allows for full control of what screens appear on the menu
- Global screen search also improved with the new interface – will even look at document attachments
- Real-time two way sync with Salesforce. Changes appear as soon as you hit save
- A ton of new functionality for the mobile app:
- Reports can now run and be downloaded right from the mobile app
- Dashboards, with the enhanced drill-down also available
- Global search works in mobile app as well
- Field Service
- Appointments show in mobile app, can launch Google Maps to get directions or make a phone call to customer from the app
- Techs can use items from truck for service call and the inventory is updated in real-time in Acumatica
- Attach pictures and have the customer sign the work order all from the mobile app
- Uses the phone’s GPS to track location
- More cool stuff:
- Block Chain with Acronis – allows for cryptographic fingerprint
- Bots! – Great demo showing how to add an expense item with the Bot
- Can create AP invoices with ABBYY cloud services – simply drop the scan invoice in and it adds all the lines from the invoice
- Alexa will even query the Acumatica database and can tell you the availability of inventory items
