Acumatica 2020 R1 New Feature Highlight: Using AI To Create Expense Receipts
Acumatica 2020 R1 has added hundreds of improvements to the product, but for this blog, we will focus on just one. With the help of Microsoft Azure Form Recognizer, Acumatica users can now take a picture of an expense receipt with their mobile device and the system will recognize the values and map them to the correct fields in Expense Receipt screen.
When the pandemic is eventually over, employees will start traveling again. And anyone who has traveled for work a lot in the past know that the chore of tracking expenses is a time-consuming and error-prone obligation. Acumatica has used Form Recognizer’s prebuilt receipt API and machine learning capabilities to grab the data from receipts. This allows the users to review claims without all the data entry and therefor freeing up employee’s time.
The API will find key data such as the merchant name, amounts and other information and then Acumatica maps it to the appropriate fields. If the system has any difficulty finding information on the receipt, the user can simply correct the mapping, by clicking on the screen. For a short demo of this feature click here.
