2023 R1 – Delegation and Reassignment of Approvals
Starting with the release of 2023 R1, users of Acumatica have the ability to reassign the request for approvals and have the ability to delegate approvals to other users. This allows companies to run smoothly, even when necessary approvers are out of the office. When original approvers are unable to approve a request, a new approver can be assigned for a temporary amount of time to create an exception to the typical workflow, the existing approval maps do not need to be updated. See below for some examples of how this works.
Changes to the Approval Maps
On the Approval Maps Form (EP205015), there is a check box on the rule actions tab that now states Allow Reassignment of Approvals. If this check box is selected, the approver in the system can be changed based on a specific rule. If this box is cleared, the original approval map rules set up in the Acumatica system must be followed.
Changes to Approvals Form
There have been several updates to the Approvals Form (EP503010). The most notable is the reassign function that has been added. This has been added on the menu in the header section of the form. If a user selects any checkboxes in the details section, they can reassign to a new approver.
By selecting a new approver, as shown in the screenshot above, a new rule will be created on the Approval Map Form. The new approver will then be able to see what tasks and items they need to approve in the system.
